Haunted

My version of a Charlton Comics Haunted Love “Corner Box” for Rich Smith Illustrations’ Corner Box Challenge over on Instagram.
Corner Boxes originated when comics were primarily sold at news stands and other general stores.
The comics were either placed in spinner racks or they were displayed on a newsstand just like magazines. This meant that the covers of the comics would often be obscured, with either the top or left side of the comic being seen.
A way of indicating the contents of a comic, no matter how it was displayed was needed, thus the corner box (a small piece of art at the top left of a comic cover) was born.
