The Kaci Bell Mysteries

Portraits of the two main characters (Kaci Bell and Robyn Prentiss) from a new project that John Gatehouse and I are working on.
The Kaci Bell Mysteries is a newspaper style adventure comic strip that will eventually be posted online.
So far thirty episodes of the strip have been drawn, but John and I won’t be “publishing” any of it until the first adventure is completed.
Ms. Marvel ?

This illustration was developed from a random drawing I had in my sketchbook. It somehow became a sort of Ms. Marvel costume, taking it’s design cues from the original incarnation of the Marvel Comics version of Captain Marvel.
Spider-Woman

A drawing of Marvel Comics superheroine Spider-Woman, who first appeared in issue thirty two of Marvel Spotlight.
The character was, according to Marvel Comics' then-publisher Stan Lee, created for the sole purpose of copyrighting the Spider-Woman name.
The comic, Witten by Archie Goodwin, with art by Sal Buscema and Jim Mooney proved popular enough to justify an ongoing series which lasted for fifty issues.
Since then there have been a number of other Spider-Woman series from Marvel, with more than one character using the name as a secret identity.

K-Zine Two

As with the cover for issue one of K-Zine (see earlier post on this blog) this image was put together using a number of royalty free photos from a variety of sites.
The pictures were combined and worked on in Photoshop using various tools and then filters were applied.
The first issue of K-Zine, a Kindle Speculative Fiction magazine, edited an published by Graeme Hurry will be available at Amazon from the 30th of September. Issue two is scheduled to be released at the beginning of 2012.
