There’s not much I can say about this, just another drawing from my sketchbook that developed into a finished illustration.

This is the opening strip for a series about a family who move to Majorca to run a bar.

Writer John Gatehouse has been living in Majorca for many years, and this gives him an insight into the various communities living on the island.

For the moment development of the strip has been put on the back-burner as John and I are busy with a variety of other projects, including the Monster Hunt books for Penguin U.S.A. and The Kaci Bell Mysteries

The Kaci Bell Mysteries, which I have mentioned on this blog in an earlier post is a newspaper style adventure comic strip that will eventually be posted online.

So far eighty five episodes of the strip have been drawn, but none of it will be “published” until the first adventure is completed.

As a freelance artist I am quite often asked to produce character sketches and designs when being considered for a job.

This is a montage of some of the drawings that have resulted from that process, but for various reasons were thought to be unsuitable.

A few more designs from a project that writer John Gatehouse and I are putting together.
