Cybercandy, a British company that imports and retails sweets and drinks from around the world, have a mascot called the Candy Overlord.

The company wanted to have him Redrawn as “a cutesy/anime style mini-me” to be called the Candy Underlord. This is the Design I came up with for them.

Monster Hunting for Penguin

Posted on June 14th, 2012

Back when John Gatehouse and I were working on Lazarus Lemming For the DFC, we came up with an idea for kid’s book which we called the Monster Hunters Handbook.

We put together a proposal in which John described the book this way –

The Monster-Hunter’s Handbook is the fun way to help brave-hearted readers to become celebrity “monster-hunters”! We introduce them to the terrifying, bloodcurdling supernatural world that exists outside their own front door. (Monster-hunting is a lot more fun than flipping burgers for a living – although we wouldn’t suggest taking out any long-term pension plans!)

It’s taken a while, and there have been a few bumps along the way, but thanks to the hard work of agents Watson Little, John and I are now working on a series of four books for Penguin(USA).

Our editor at Penguin is Rob Valios ( one of the people behind Reading with Pictures) and the first book is due out before Halloween 2013.
