Not a Red Herring

Posted on July 30th, 2011

This is “Harry’ who I designed as a mascot for Flotilla 23-7 of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary.

As part of US Coastguard Division 23, Flotilla 23-7 is responsible for patrolling the Herring Bay area of the State of Maryland inside Chesapeake Bay.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary is a volunteer organisation which was set up to help with recreational boater safety and contribute to the safety and security of American citizens, ports, waterways and coastal regions.

Monsters in Malta

Posted on July 20th, 2011

John Gatehouse and I have produced a new two page comic strip to help publicise both this years Malta Comic Convention, and our forthcoming Trick or Treat ebook. The strip shows our cast of characters visiting Malta for the convention and causing their usual mayhem and destruction.

The Malta Comic Convention this year will be held over the weekend of the 26th and 27th November. More details can be found on the Malta Con website.

Harvey Awards

Posted on July 15th, 2011

The Reading With Pictures anthology for which I contributed the two page strip Overdue (written by Dino Caruso) has been nominated for two Harvey Awards.

One for best anthology and another for Best Original Graphic Publication for Younger Readers.

The anthology was created to be both a fundraiser and profile enhancer for Reading With Pictures, a nonprofit organisation that advocates the use of comics in the classroom to promote literacy and improve educational outcomes.

The awards are nominated and voted for by anyone who works within the comic book industry, including webcomic creators and editors.
